Notes for Jira Dashboards

This app adds a Notes gadget to Jira dashboards. You write the note in Markdown and it renders on the dashboard.

Adding the gadget

Open a dashboard, choose Edit, then Add gadget and pick Notes. Jira opens the gadget in edit mode straight away.

Writing the note

The left pane is the Markdown source and the right pane previews exactly what will be shown. Press Save to store it, or Cancel to close without changing anything. A note can be up to 30,000 characters; the counter turns red and Save is disabled beyond that.

Supported syntax

• Headings, **bold**, _italic_, ~~strikethrough~~
• `inline code` and fenced code blocks
• Ordered, bulleted and nested lists
• Task lists — - [ ] and - [x] render as checkboxes
• Block quotes, tables, links, horizontal rules, hard line breaks

Where the note is stored

In the gadget's own configuration, held by Jira on that dashboard. The app runs no server of its own, keeps no database, and requests no Jira permissions.

Theme

The note follows your Jira appearance setting, light or dark.
